Rural Leadership Training
Reaching out to Rural Areas
AAI Director in Uganda, Sunday Sula Lasa, with a team of
Leaders, has established a Training program for Village Pastors and Leaders in
rural areas north of Kampala. In Africa the local church is often the hub of
village life. There is where many go for assistance when in need, we therefore
want to equip as many as possible with the skills they need to be better
equipped to deal with many difficult situations that arise due to poverty and
lack of infastructure. Places where AAI Training Programs have been well
attended some leaders travelling many miles on foot to attend. All have been
encouraged and helped by the input of Training DVD's sent by AAI and with
materials such as printed notes for each Pastor/Leader and a new bible is
presented with a diploma at the completion of the course.
Future plans for rural areas include provision of water through the digging of
wells, tutoring in English and Maths and vocational training in various trades.
Provision of medical help through establishment of medical clinics and/or
sending of mobile clinics from Kampala to address the many medical needs of
rural people. Volunteers from Australia with such skills will be needed to help
with this program. If you have a skill that you can pass on, please write and
tell us.
