MEDICAL CLINIC, UGANDA
A medical clinic operating in Magere village with frequent Mobile visits to the different villages especially around Bweyale in Kiryandongo district. These have treated hundreds of poor people for common illnesses and minor surgeries.
We have continued to see an increase in the number of patients and the services of the clinic over the past year. As we study the trends of health needs in the community we have realised much more help is needed in this area. A remarkable improvement of the health in the community is reported as compared to past years. There is a general and gradual decline of Government Health Services country wide, which negatively impacts the population. Services provided by the Safe Way Clinic plays an important role in bridging this gap.
AAI has also received positive reports of the assistance given by the Mobile Clinics to those living in villages in rural areas. The large population in these areas have very little access to medical services and the hundreds who attend very much appreciate the assistance the mobile clinics provide for the help needed!
Help is needed to extend these vital services to include ‘Maternal Care’. This will be in the form of an extension of the present clinic building, doubling its width through the entire length, to provide Maternal Services to mothers and babies during and after pregnancy. AAI has now purchased a portable ultrasound machine for this purpose. We know lives will be saved with the assistance this device will provide. Plans are being drawn up for the extension. We commend this project to you for your prayers and support through to its conclusion.
