WATER PROJECTS

WATER PROJECT - Upward Junior School - Uganda

In 2021 a Water/Solar Project was funded to provide safe and reliable water for the school and the community. This is the fourth water project undertaken in the area, first at Kiryandongo, then at Kakowoko, and thirdly at Panyadoli.

Water is being pumped out of the new well.

Two water tanks were also constructed with a capacity of 20,000 liters to harvest rainwater.

Solar lighting was included in this 2021 Project, giving night-time security for boarders, staff and teachers. This lighting enables evening medical treatment for the community, manned by a qualified medical attendant working from the school's isolation clinic.

WATER PROJECT - OBBO, SOUTH SUDAN

WATER PROJECT - KENYA

In times of drought, Mercy Home and School often depend on water vendors to supply water but the water they supply is not treated and the risks are high. Children may also need bucket water from a communal pool to carry back to the Home and School when water supplies are exhausted.

CURENT DEVELOPMENT

AAI  is supporting Mercy Home and School to drill a bore on the school site, to provide a year-round, secure, safe water supply for the school and community.
